May I suggest homeland defence team tursn out in Falklands kit (68 DPM parkas/windproofs or smocks & trousers, CEFO webbing, SLRs, para-type helmets) for the Gobbins shoot, we want to look our best for the visitors! I need to get some pics too for the work staff mag which is gonna take an article.

what about bringing the era up tempo a bit as we have done the Falklands maybe modern day Para ( due to fact that most of us dont have all the kit for that year just modern Para ) lol now how does that sound

or what about our guests and the rest against the Homeland Defence Team lol

If the regulars all come with para kit, with those who have SLRs and 58 pattern wearing it and the rest with whatever they have, that oughta do it. I think we have more SLRs than SA80s - still can't persuade Sam to invest in one and Ross has sold his...BTW way mate, where's YOUR SA80??? Smile

I think that if the SA80 was given a little attention and upgraded it would be better than the SLR for airsoft, due to its relatively long barrel and decent accuracy, it is a better weapon for the FIBUA area of the site than the SLR due to it being more compact, I will admit they do break down but it is a bit like buying an Alfa Romeo, you buy it out of passion for cars, simply because of what they stand for, certainly not because the cars are good because lets face it, a fair few of them arn't, its the same with the SA80, you buy it to add to your collection of classic British kit, and no matter how crap you think it is, if you game it British kit, it stands to reason that you should get an SA80 to complete the image. All I am saying is have patience with it, they do have problems but to be honest I think they are arguably one of the most attractive weapons on the market for airsoft.

Well said, young sir! And while the SA80 lacks the supreme elegance and great ergonomics of the SRL, it's got a certain functional beauty in my eyes, like a Scarcen, an SE5a, or a KGV class battleship.
